In April 1957 Bell, in collaboration with Radio 4ZB, set up a closed circuit television demonstration at Kell's Department store in Dunedin. (*Ed. Elsewhere referred as Brian Keene's Department Store)
Sessions were broadcast live from the television studio and televised to receivers around the store at the same time.
Compare at other television demonstrations was Ross Fenton, NZBS studios in Wellington and Auckland six years earlier.

I served my apprenticeship at Bell Radio-Tv from 1959 to 1963. I started at the second plant at 75 Dominion Road where the Colt and radiograms were being assembled. I moved to the main plant at 274 Dominion Road where the Tvs, Radio Entertainment Centres and all the other receives were made.
Cliff Maxwell, Chief Engineer at Bell Radio-Tv (from 1954 till mid 70's ) has contributed the bulk of the content relating to Bell's early Tv transmissions. I have gathered images and information from contributors who have contacted me with material and from public sources.
